Everyday Sport Knits.
Seven patterns for two bases — LITLG Sport for sharp structure and stitch clarity, Husk for the sweaters you’ll reach for on every grey morning.
LITLG Studio · June 2026
Sport weight is the quietly confident weight. It goes further than DK, knits faster than fingering, and lands in a sweet spot that gives you real garment fabric — structure without bulk, warmth without weight.
Our two sport bases share the same meterage (300m per 100g) but completely different characters. LITLG Sport is 100% Superwash Merino — smooth, bouncy, precise. Husk is 80% Merino, 10% Silk and 10% Cashmere, non-superwash, with a subtle tweedy warmth.
Each pattern below is labelled for which base suits it best.

Seven Everyday Sport Knits
Pattern 01
DRK Everyday Sweater.
by Andrea Mowry
Best for LITLG SportA circular yoke pullover designed around the question of what sweater you actually reach for. Top-down, seamless, ribbed collar and bracelet sleeves — the one you’ll finish and immediately want to start again.

Top-down with the collar first, stitches divided for sleeves and body, then the sleeves returned to the needle for a completely seamless finish. Simple enough to be meditative; refined enough that the result looks intentional every time.
Why LITLG Sport: The suggested yarn (Mountain Meadow Tweed Sport, 330yds/100g) is virtually identical to LITLG Sport at 328yds/100g. Cast on at 3.75mm for a crisp, structured circular yoke.

Pattern 02 / DRK Everyday Cardi
Pattern 02
DRK Everyday Cardi.
by Andrea Mowry
Sport or HuskThe cardigan for every day and every occasion. Top-down raglan with a reversible double-knit button band — knit side for a classic look, purl side for something softer. A garment that earns its place in the rotation immediately.
Why it works: LITLG Sport gives you the crisp stitch definition the reversible construction relies on. Husk works too — the silk adds gentle lustre to the button band.

Pattern 03 / Alpenglow I
Pattern 03
Alpenglow I.
by Andrea Mowry
Best for LITLG SportA relaxed sport weight pullover with the warmth and ease of an oversized knit and the structure of a properly fitted sweater. Named for the glow that settles on mountain slopes at dusk — and it has that quality. Quiet, beautiful, worn.
Why LITLG Sport: Gauge of 23sts/4” sits right where LITLG Sport performs best. The superwash finish means it washes and wears beautifully.
Pattern 04
Pyramid Light.
by Minimi Knit Design
Best for LITLG SportA lightweight top-down V-neck tee and the breezy sibling of Minimi’s best-selling Pyramid. Raglan sleeves, seamless, adjustable length, and a clean minimal silhouette that layers over everything or works perfectly on its own. Simple enough to knit while watching television. Satisfying enough to wear every week.
Why LITLG Sport: Pyramid Light gauges at 21sts/10cm on 3.5mm — try 3.75mm with LITLG Sport and you’ll hit the gauge perfectly. The superwash merino gives the tee excellent drape and washability. 7,500+ favourites.

Pattern 05 / Stella Alpina
Pattern 05
Stella Alpina.
by Minimi Knit Design
Best for HuskA circular yoke lace tee, seamlessly top-down. The lace stitch is inspired by the white petals of the alpine wildflower — delicate but structured, with short-row neck shaping that never disrupts the lace.
Why Husk: Designer’s yarn is 50% Merino/30% Silk/20% Cashmere — almost identical to Husk. Single DK strand explicitly supported; the silk catches the lace eyelets beautifully.

Pattern 06 / Flax Light
Pattern 06
Flax Light.
by tincanknits
Best for LITLG SportThe classic raglan in sock/sport weight. Sizes baby to 6XL, clear instructions, seamless top-down construction. The pattern everyone should knit at least once — and many do, repeatedly.
Why LITLG Sport: LITLG Sport at 3.5mm hits the 24sts/10cm gauge. Free, 16,177 projects, and the ideal first sport-weight garment.

Pattern 07 / Comebackigan
Pattern 07
Comebackigan.
by Andrea Mowry
Best for HuskA knit-purl texture cardigan from the bottom up. Deep pockets, a refined double-knit button band, raglan yoke. Cosy enough for every day, considered enough for everywhere else.
Why Husk: Knit-purl textures settle beautifully into non-superwash wool. The silk in Husk adds subtle lustre to the button band — exactly where you want it.
