These cozy mittens are inspired by the chilly, wintry mornings and were designed to pair perfectly with The Snowfell Cardigan.

These mittens feature a two-color garter stitch in which you work two consecutive RS rows, one in each color, followed by two consecutive WS rows. You may be familiar with this technique if you have worked two-color brioche, if not it’s a great one to learn.

Swirl – early 15c., “whirlpool, eddy,” originally Scottish, of uncertain origin, in Middle English swirlen (to eddy) perhaps related to dialectal Norwegian svirla or Dutch zwirrelen “to whirl.” The meaning “whirling movement” is from 1818.

This design is knitted with yarn held double (one semi-solid color in our double knit/worsted weight base and one variegated color in a lighter sock weight) to create a fluid line that swirls to the top to create movement.

Hatching Sock

The Hatching Socks are directly inspired by the drawing technique of hatching, used by Renaissance artists like Raphael and Michelangelo. The term ‘hatching’ describes a series parallel lines drawn closely together to create the illusion of shadow. The Hatching Socks feature a stitch pattern created with slipped stitches and floats, and the design includes a garter stitch heel flap that is quick, fun, and hugs your heel.

Cabin Creatures

Gorgeous cabin creatures which are easy to make, knit in the round then use a running stitch to create trouser legs and the effect of hands in their pockets. The perfect yarn stash project as you can tailor their sweaters and trousers to your own favorite stitches and colors using our yarn or scraps from your stash to create wonderful knitting gifts for everyone. We used LITLG Singles and BFL/Gotland LITLG Hinterland to give them lots of woolly texture.
