What we dye

Designed in families. Sold by the skein.

Every colour is worked out alongside its neighbours, so a shade you buy on its own still belongs to something. Take one skein, or take the whole palette it came from.

Create your own Palette

Ten years of dyeing by hand in West Cork

Every skein is dyed by hand in our studio here, in small batches, to recipes we have been refining for ten years. The palette comes from one stretch of coast, looked at closely and for a long time — which is why it hangs together, and why a dyer whose colour sense matches your own is worth the looking.

Get to know us

I mix every recipe here myself and dye it in small batches, so I know what each one does on each base. If a skein is not right, it does not leave the studio.

Wild Carrot, October

The hedgerows here go rust and gold for about three weeks a year. Every recipe starts this way — Atlantic light, field observation, then months at the dye pots getting it to hold.
