Over the past year we have been designing and working on a publication that captures the mood and style of our hand-dyed yarns. Influenced by our ancestral surroundings and the subtlety of nature, our Life in the Long Grass Magazine releases early 2020 with the following patterns (see list below). It is a 100 page publication showcasing a different part of Ireland in each issue through photography with 9 knitting patterns based on a theme. The theme for the 1st issue is “Through the Trees” a journey through nature and the mark it makes which corresponds to the knitter making her own mark. This issue is based in West Cork, Ireland – we have added in information about the personality of visiting an Irish town and where to stay and eat. The magazine is printed on 100% recycled paper and has a matt, textural and subtle feel which ties in with our style of dyeing and aesthetics.
The 2nd issue “Summer Mists, River Swim” is based on the same design principle as the 1st issue, showcasing patterns beautifully shot near our studio with info on Irish brown soda bread, foraging, and interesting places we visited to shoot the magazine images.
The magazine costs 12 euro wholesale and retails for 24 euro upwards. We do online campaigns over the weeks promoting the magazine to build up awareness, where we will reference which stores sell the publication. You can also contact us to use images from the magazine to use on your own social media to promote our yarn in your own store.
