Issue 9 – Giving Threads Shawls

Issue 9 – Giving Threads Shawls

17 Shawl Patterns with a mixture of large, medium shawls: wraps, scarves, cowls, shawlettes, kerchiefs, and a bonnet.

Knitting a shawl is an intimate act—each stitch a quiet gesture of warmth and care. Shawls have long been treasured as symbols of comfort, protection, and love. In this special issue of Giving Threads — Shawls, we celebrate the art of creating pieces that wrap around more than just shoulders; they wrap around hearts.

Whether knit for yourself or gifted to someone dear, shawls carry stories and intentions that transcend yarn and pattern. They accompany us through life’s seasons, offering shelter from chilly winds and a gentle reminder of the hands that crafted them.

This collection explores designs that balance beauty, versatility, and heartfelt purpose. Here, knitting becomes a language of generosity—connecting communities, families, and friends through the simple, soulful act of making.

In every loop and lace, you’ll find inspiration to knit not just a shawl, but a gift that speaks of presence, patience, and love. This issue invites you to slow down, savor the craft, and embrace the power of giving through your stitches.
